Safety · concept stage

Safety

Safety is part of the design from the start, not an afterthought. Here is how we picture it.

What this page is

This page describes intentions at the concept stage. There is no reviewed safety case, no tests and no approvals yet. Nothing here is a promise or a statement about finished technology.

Approvals: still open.

Flight corridor

A flight corridor is the airspace in which the rocket is meant to fly. We plan it in from the start instead of drawing it around a finished rocket at the end. What the corridor looks like is still open.

Geofence

A geofence is a defined boundary that limits the flight area. It is part of the design of the autonomous guidance. How it is implemented technically has not been decided yet.

Exclusion zones

Exclusion zones are areas on the ground and in the air that must be closed during tests and flight. Where and how large is still open.

Recovery

Parachutes are meant to bring the rocket and its experiments back. Recovery is part of the avionics and recovery trade and in the concept from the start.

Approvals

A flight is phase 3 and comes only when everything works on the ground and the approvals are in place. Which approvals are needed, who grants them and when we apply is still open.
